Table of Contents
Keep your account secure with an extra layer of protection. Enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) means that even if someone has your password, they can’t access your account without a special code generated on your phone. It’s quick to set up and gives you peace of mind.
How to Turn On Multi-Factor Authentication
- Log in to your Cove Customer Portal at portal.covesmart.com
- Go to the Account tab
- Under User Settings, check the box labeled "Enable Multi-Factor Authentication"
- A pop-up will appear with a QR code
- Open your preferred authenticator app—such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy
- Scan the QR code using your app
- Enter the verification code shown in the app into the prompt in your portal
- That’s it! MFA is now enabled on your account.
Next time you log in, you’ll be prompted to enter a code from your authenticator app after you type in your email and password.
How to Turn Off Multi-Factor Authentication
- Go to the Account tab in the portal
- Under "User settings," uncheck the multi-factor authentication box.
- A confirmation pop-up will appear—click “Disable Authentication”
Important: If you decide to re-enable MFA later, you’ll need to set it up again from scratch using a new QR code. Your old authenticator setup will no longer work.
