How to Replace Your Battery

If you have received a Door or Window Sensor “Low Battery” message on your panel, you will need to replace the battery promptly to ensure the device continues to function properly. Information to order replacements can be found in our article, How to Order Replacement Batteries.

How to Replace Your Battery

  1. Open the contact sensor (large piece) by finding the small perimeter side with a slot in the bottom middle. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot and twist it toward you.
  2. Remove the module inside the cover by turning the cover upside down over your hand.
  3. Use a flathead screwdriver to slide the batteries out in the direction of the arrows found on the silver battery covers.
  4. Insert the new batteries with the + side facing away from the module and up toward you.
  5. Replace the module and snap the cover back.
  6. After replacing the batteries, it is recommended that you test the sensor to make sure it works properly.
