What are Groups?

Groups (as the name suggests) allow you to group equipment together based on your desired preference for easy viewing and access. Let’s say, for example, you have a motion detector, an indoor camera, and a glass break detector in your living room. You can group those 3 pieces of equipment together and label that as your living room. 

How to Set up a Group on the App

Navigating to and setting up groups on the app can differ slightly depending on if you are using an Android or iOS device. Please confirm which operating system your device is using and follow the directions according to that operating system. 

Setting up on Android

1. Log into the app
2. Click on the 3 bars at the top left to access the side menu
3. Select “Groups”
4. Click on the (+) Icon at the top right of the “Groups” page to add a new group
5. Create a name for this group. Click “Ok” to save that name

To Add equipment to that group, refer to the “Modifying Groups Section” 

Setting up on iOS

1. Log into the app
2. Navigate to “Groups” on the bottom menu
3. Click on the (+) icon at the top right to add a new group
4. Here you can either name the group or check/uncheck the cameras, zones, Scenes, or other groups. 
5. Once you have selected all of your desired items, click on the floppy disk icon at the top right of the page to save and apply your changes. 

How to Modify or Remove a Group or Favorites

Editing groups (including the “Favorites” group) on the app can differ slightly depending on if you are using an Android or iOS device. Please confirm which operating system your device is using and follow the directions according to that operating system. 

Modifying a Group on Android

1. Log into the app
2. Click on the 3 bars at the top left to access the side menu
3. Select “Groups”
4. Click on the 3 dots next to the group in question
5. Select “Modify” if you wish to add/revise the equipment in the group or “Rename” if you wish to rename. 
   1. If you are renaming, click on the new name and click “OK” to save the changes. 
6. Check or uncheck each of the desired options in the cameras, zones, scenes, or groups sections for the items you’d like to have or remove from the current group.
7. When you have selected all of your desired items, click “Done” to finish saving those changes to that group. 

Removing a Group on Android

1. Log into the app
2. Click on the 3 bars at the top left to access the side menu
3. Select “Groups”
4. Click on the 3 dots next to the group in question
5. Select “Delete” if you wish to remove the group altogether. 
6. Select “Delete” on the confirmation pop-up to verify the removal of the group. 

Modifying a Group on iOS

1. Log into the app
2. Navigate to “Groups” on the bottom menu
3. Click on the group in question
4. Click on the pencil at the top right to edit the group
5. Here you can either rename the group or check/uncheck the cameras, zones, scenes, or other groups. 
   1. Please note that the renaming of the “Favorites” group is unavailable. 
6. Once you have selected all of your desired items, click on the floppy disk icon at the top right of the page to save and apply your changes. 

Removing a Group on iOS

1. Log into the app
2. Navigate to “Groups” on the bottom menu
3. Click on the group in question
4. Click on the pencil at the top right to edit the group
5. Click on the trash can at the top right of the “Edit Group” page.
6. Click “Confirm” if you wish to delete that group.
