User Management through the Alarm Panel

Manage User Access To connect your Alarm Panel to user management, please follow these steps: Master Passcode Reset your Master Passcode User Passcodes Add a new User Reset User Passcode Remove User Passcode

Managing users on your Cove system is easy and secure. Whether you're setting up a new user, changing a passcode, or removing access, you can do it all directly from your Alarm Panel. Just make sure your Hub and Alarm Panel are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and you’re good to go!

Here’s how to manage user access from your Alarm Panel:

Manage User Access

Your Alarm Panel will allow you to manage your users and passcodes for your system.  In order to do this, your Alarm Panel and Hub need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi Network.

Once your Hub and Alarm Panel are both connected you can now connect the Alarm Panel to our backend.  This will allow you to add, delete, and edit users and passcodes. 

To connect your Alarm Panel to user management, please follow these steps: 

  1. Click on “More” at the bottom navigation bar. 
  2. Select “Settings”
  3. Select “Panel” 
  4. Enter the 4-digit passcode.
  5. Tap on “Manage Access”
  6. Enter your Cove Connect App Username and Password
  7. Tap on “Sign In”

Once you have connected you will now see the Manage Access Options which will allow  you to modify the following: 

Master Passcode

Your master passcode is the 4-digit user code you created during the initial installation process. Unlike the other user passcodes, you can use the master passcode to access your system settings.

 Reset your Master Passcode

  1. Go to More > Settings > Panel.
  2. Enter your 4-digit master passcode.
  3. Tap Manage Access.
  4. Log in with your Cove Connect app username and password.
  5. Select the Master User from the list.
  6. Scroll down to PIN code (required).
  7. Enter your new 4-digit passcode.
  8. Tap the green checkmark, then tap Save.

Forgot your master passcode?
Call us at 855-268-3669 with your verbal password, and our team will help you reset it.

 
 

User Passcodes

You can add up to 50 new users to your system, but you must be signed in to your Alarm Panel with your Cove Connect username and password in order to do so, and your Hub and Alarm Panel must be connected to the same internet network.

Add a new User

  1. Go to More > Settings > Panel.
  2. Enter your 4-digit master passcode.
  3. Tap Manage Access.
  4. Log in with your Cove Connect app username and password.
  5. Tap + Add (top right).
  6. Fill out the user’s name, access level, and passcode.
  7. Tap Add to save.
 
 

Reset User Passcode

  1. Go to More > Settings > Panel.
  2. Enter your 4-digit master passcode.
  3. Tap Manage Access.
  4. Log in with your Cove Connect app username and password.
  5. Select the user you want to update.
  6. Under “PIN code (required),” replace the current 4-digit PIN with your desired new 4-digit PIN/passcode.
  7. Tap the green checkmark on the bottom right of the keypad.
  8. Tap Save.
 
 

Remove User Passcode

  1. Go to More > Settings > Panel.
  2. Enter your 4-digit master passcode.
  3. Tap Manage Access.
  4. Log in with your Cove Connect app username and password.
  5. Select the user name you would like to remove.
  6. Tap the 3 dots in the top right corner of the screen. 
  7. Click Delete. A window will appear asking you to confirm Delete User. 
  8. Select Delete User.
 
 

 

Note:  If you do not have internet, you can create and modify users and passcodes through the Cove Connect App.
